Wright, Lindsey & Jennings partner Gordon S. Rather Jr. received the Mark P. Robinson Lifetime Achievement Award at the American Board of Trial Advocates National Board of Directors meeting January 17. Mr. Rather is the first-ever recipient of the award, which is given in recognition of a lifetime of dedicated service to ABOTA, leadership in the legal profession and preservation of the right to trial by jury. The ABOTA Foundation's highest honor was created in recognition of its founding father and first president, Mark P. Robinson of Los Angeles.
Mr. Rather is a longtime member of ABOTA and was National President of ABOTA in 1996. He has been a member of the National Board of Directors since 1989 and has chaired multiple committees and served as president of the Arkansas Chapter from 1987 to 1988. In 1994, he received the Foundation's Masters in Trial Award.
Chair of the WLJ Trial Team, Mr. Rather has been named among the Best Lawyers in America every year since 1999, has been listed in the 2009 edition of The International Who's Who of Product Liability Lawyers and was named to the Lawdragon 500 Leading Lawyers list in 2005 and 2006. In 2006, he received the Arkansas Bar Association's Outstanding Lawyer Award.
